Sesa Football Academy (SFA), one of the premier football academies in India, hosted more than 250 players in a two-day trial held at Fatorda and saw overwhelming response from enthusiastic young footballers of the state.

The academy is looking at inducting players by offering a direct trial for boys who are born in the year 2005. The first phase of the trial saw 36 boys being shortlisted among the 250 who participated. The second phase of the trial will be held on April 26 at Sesa Football Academy, Sirsaim and will give the players an opportunity to take part and represent the SFA in the AIFF U-15 Elite Youth League.

Technical director, head coaches and goalkeeping coaches observed the players throughout the sessions for their U-15 squad recruitment.

Sesa Football Academy is known for producing quality players over the years such as Godwin Franco, Adil Khan, Augustin Fernandes, Pratesh Shirodkar among others.

Speaking on the occasion Eduard Batlle Basart, Technical Director of the Sesa Football Academy said, “The turnout is really startling for us and the competition is really good. It will take a lot of work to shortlist the right talent for our academy. We are monitoring the players individually to ensure that our style of play suits them. We have around 250 players participating in the trials, after two days of rigorous monitoring and evaluation we have shortlisted 36 players who will participate in the final round at Sirsaim on 26th April."

Mr. Gajanan Pednekar who traveled early in the morning from Alpora to make sure his son reaches for the trials on time said, "We were looking forward to the announcements since a long time. My son keeps following the social media pages for information regarding the trials. Sesa Football Academy has the infrastructure, platform and technical resources that will suit the young players. I hope my son gets selected today."
